I recently relaunched MnDOT's Transit in Greater Minnesota website. Our goals were to reduce a lot of the clutter to simplify the user experience, reduce the cognitive load, and humanize the language. We also wanted to make it easier for our employees to manage and maintain the content over time so things don't get out of date so often.
A lot of credit goes to my colleague Melinda Estey for wrangling all the internal stakeholders and getting them to buy into our changes.
